Supporting the Future: How Kiremba Orphanage Empowers Children to Thrive
The Kiremba Orphanage has long been a symbol of protection and nurturing for children who lost their mothers at birth. Since its inception in 1962, the orphanage has not only focused on the basic needs of the children it cares for but also on providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive in life. With over 1,068 children having benefited from its services, Kiremba Orphanage is dedicated to turning vulnerability into opportunity.
Under the guidance of the Kiremba Pentecostal Church, the orphanage has gone beyond the traditional role of sheltering infants. It provides education, emotional support, and a nurturing environment where children can grow with confidence and security. Many children who were once sheltered at the orphanage have gone on to become productive members of society, thanks in large part to the formative care they received at Kiremba.
At the core of the orphanage’s mission is the belief that every child deserves the chance to grow, learn, and contribute to their community. This focus on empowerment through care and education has allowed Kiremba to become a vital institution, not only in Bururi Province but across Burundi. The orphanage continues to uphold the values of love, compassion, and resilience, ensuring that each child who enters its doors leaves with hope for a better future.
