The Kiremba Orphanage has long been a symbol of protection and nurturing for children who lost their mothers at birth. Since its inception in 1962, the orphanage has not only focused on the basic needs of the children it cares for but also on providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive in life. With over 1,068 children having benefited from its services, Kiremba Orphanage is dedicated to turning vulnerability into opportunity.

In 1962, a mission of compassion began at the Southern Kiremba Orphanage, located in Bururi Province, Burundi. Established by the Kiremba Pentecostal Church, the orphanage was founded with the goal of caring for infants who tragically lost their mothers during childbirth. The story began with two twin babies from Ryansoro commune, who were the first to receive the shelter and care provided by the orphanage.

The Kiremba Orphanage, nestled in the heart of Bururi Province, is more than just a home for orphaned infants. It is a sanctuary that offers hope, love, and care to the youngest and most vulnerable members of the community. Established in 1962 by the Kiremba Pentecostal Church, the orphanage has grown from a small effort to care for two children into a vital institution that has supported over 1,068 children to date.
